Thank you for using Optimal Turkey. We respect your privacy. This policy explains what data our app collects and how it is used.
Summary
- We collect limited usage and diagnostic data through Google Firebase Analytics to improve app performance and user experience.
- Data you enter (e.g., meal plans, dish notes) is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
- We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, or contact information.
- Premium features are available via in-app purchases. Payments are processed by the app store (e.g., Google Play). We use RevenueCat to manage purchase receipts and entitlements; we do not receive your full payment details.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- You can opt out of analytics data collection through the app's or your device settings (see below).
Data Collection and Use
Analytics Data
We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect the following types of information:
- App usage data: Which features are used, how often, and app performance metrics
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, app version
- Crash and error reports: Technical diagnostic information when the app encounters problems
- Session data: App open/close events, session duration (not linked to your meal planning content)
This data helps us:
- Identify and fix bugs and performance issues
- Understand which features are most valuable to users
- Make informed decisions about app improvements
- Ensure the app works well across different devices
Local App Data
- Meal plans, dish data, cooking schedules, and other content you create within the app is stored locally on your device
- This local data is not transmitted to our servers or third parties
- Local data is used only to provide core app functionality
Purchases and Entitlements
To unlock Premium features, you can make in-app purchases through the app store (e.g., Google Play). We do not process or store your full payment information. Instead:
- The app store processes your payment and may share non-sensitive purchase metadata with us or our service providers (e.g., product identifier, transaction ID, purchase status, country/region, and timestamps) so we can grant access to Premium features.
- We use RevenueCat to securely verify receipts and manage your entitlement status. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts and limited device/application identifiers for the sole purpose of validating and maintaining access to Premium features.
- We do not receive card numbers or bank details, and purchase metadata is not linked by us to your name or email.
Data Sharing
Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase Analytics: We share usage and diagnostic data with Google as described above. Google may use this data per their privacy policy.
- App Store Billing (e.g., Google Play): Payments are handled by the app store. They may process data necessary to complete your purchase, prevent fraud, and manage subscriptions in accordance with their terms and privacy policy.
- RevenueCat (Purchase Entitlements): We use RevenueCat to verify purchase receipts and manage entitlements. RevenueCat processes purchase receipts and limited device/app identifiers to maintain your access to Premium features, per their privacy policy.
- No data sales: We do not sell your data to anyone.
Data Retention
- Analytics data is retained by Google Firebase for up to 26 months, then automatically deleted
- Purchase and entitlement records are retained as long as needed to provide your Premium access, comply with legal obligations (including audit and tax requirements), and resolve disputes. RevenueCat and app stores apply their own retention schedules per their policies.
- Local app data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app
Data Storage and Retention
- All user-created data is stored locally on the device and remains there unless you choose to delete it.
- Uninstalling the app will remove locally stored app data from your device.
Children's Privacy
- Optimal Turkey is not directed to children under 13.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Permissions
The app may request the following permissions:
- Internet access: Required for Firebase Analytics data transmission
- Network state: To determine when analytics data can be sent
- Other permissions are only requested as needed for core app functionality
If you purchase Premium features, internet access is also used to complete purchase flows, verify receipts, and restore entitlements.
If additional permissions are added in future versions, this policy will be updated accordingly.
Security
- Analytics data is transmitted securely using encryption
- Local data security depends on your device's security measures
- Please protect your device with a passcode and keep your operating system up to date
International Transfers
- Analytics data may be transferred to and processed in countries where Google operates data centers
- Purchase and entitlement data processed by RevenueCat and app stores may be transferred internationally in accordance with their privacy policies and applicable data protection laws
- Google and RevenueCat provide appropriate safeguards for international data transfers in accordance with applicable data protection laws
Legal Basis for Processing (EU/UK Users)
We process analytics data based on our legitimate interest in improving app performance and user experience, balanced against your privacy rights. We process purchase and entitlement data as necessary to perform a contract with you (to provide Premium features you have purchased) and to comply with legal obligations (e.g., tax and accounting).
Your Choices and Rights
Opting Out of Analytics
You can opt out of analytics data collection by:
- App level: Use the app's built-in option to disable analytics (if available)
- Android: Go to Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
- Device level: Turn off analytics sharing in your device's privacy settings
- Uninstalling: Remove the app from your device
Deleting Your Data
- Local data: Delete by clearing the app's storage in device settings or uninstalling the app
- Analytics data: Analytics data is automatically deleted after the 26-month retention period
Managing Purchases and Subscriptions
- Manage subscriptions: Use your app store account settings (e.g., Google Play > Payments & subscriptions) to view, change, or cancel subscriptions. Uninstalling the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds: Request refunds through the app store per their policies. We cannot issue refunds directly for store purchases.
- Restore purchases: Use the restore option in the App when signed into the same app store account used for the original purchase.
Changes to This Policy
- We may update this policy to reflect app changes or legal requirements
- Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Effective date" above
- Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy
